The minimum length of attendance is one semester. We find that shorter times are too disruptive for our regular student body and visiting students do not have enough time to adjust.
YES, with prior coordination in advance with the administration. We will be happy to tour and show you the facilities where your child will receive an education, it is important to mention that it will only be a tour, but we cannot enter the classrooms.
From the age of four (4) years old, it is important for them to be able to go to the toilet by themselves.
Yes, to hire the service you must contact the transportation company directly.
No, we do not provide this service.
In order to apply for a scholarship you must demonstrate that your family's income is not sufficient to pay the full monthly tuition.
We have a differentiated calendar, the school term begins in August and ends in May.

-Preschool and kinder: 8-12 Monday through Friday
-Prepa and Primary grades: 8-3 Monday through Thursday;
. 8-1:30 Fridays.
We have 180 school days, including days for parent/student talks and special celebrations.
The local tuition (you have lived in Monteverde for 2 years) is: Registration fee of 50,000 and materials fee of 30,000 (includes school supplies and one shirt). PK and Kinder: 1,290,000. Prepa: 1,550,000. Ist through 6th : 2,220,000.
For students coming from outside of the Zone: registration is $200.00 (materials fee included). PK and Kinder: $6250.00. Prepa $7500.00 and 1st through 6th: $10,000.

Sue pasó su primer tiempo prolongado en Monteverde en 2016, como voluntaria en la biblioteca del Centro de Educación CREATIVA Cloud Forest School, mientras sus hijas asistían al séptimo y al undécimo grado.
Más tarde ese año se mudó a Monteverde de forma permanente y enseñó humanidades en la escuela secundaria en Monteverde Friends School (MFS). Después de un año de enseñanza, fue contratada como directora de la escuela de MFS en 2017. Antes de eso, la Rev. Sue (como la llamaban cariñosamente después de convertirse en ministra unitaria universalista ordenada) sirvió como pastora en iglesias en Maine durante 20 años.
También ha organizado campañas políticas para la atención médica como un derecho humano, el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo y el cambio climático, ha enseñado en universidades y ha formado parte de muchas juntas comunitarias.
Tiene dos maestrías, una en Educación de Adultos y otra en Divinidad, es ABD en un programa de Doctorado en Servicios Humanos Multidisciplinarios.
Sue ha trabajado en administración de educación superior y navegó tres veces en el Programa Semester at Sea.
Tiene dos hijas: Grace y Ellie (ambas graduadas de MFS) y está casada con Ulises Salazar Leiton.
Le encanta leer, jugar al billar, caminar, las aguas termales y otras actividades al aire libre.
